A big flaw of our current ag system is the segregation of plants & animals. Plants feed animals & vice versa. That’s how our ecosystem evolved. - Paul Greive Share on X

Paul Greive is a USMC War Veteran and the co-founder of Pasturebird, the world’s largest daily-move pastured poultry operation.

He also helped launch Primal Pastures, a direct-to-consumer regenerative organic farm in southern California.

I was super excited to chat with him about how he got into farming, why he credits Lyme disease for kicking off his interest in regenerative agriculture, and how he grew both startups (hint: one surprise order of 50 chicks changed his life).

We also discuss why raising animals in their natural pasture habitat is essential, both for the environment and the added nutritional benefits we gain from their wild, foraged diets.

The best thing the government can do for regenerative ag is to step out more than stepping in. - Paul Greive Share on X

Paul then explains the difference between pasture-raised, cage-free, and free-range chickens. Then we geek out about why geese are totally underrated in the US.

You’ll also hear how Pasturebird uses the world’s largest land-based electric vehicles to help their chickens automatically move a full spot every 24 hours. FYI: It’s going to be in the Guinness Book of World Records.
