It was mid-pandemic the last time I spoke with Dr. Molly Maloof, a practicing physician, entrepreneur, Stanford professor, biohacker, and recent author of The Spark Factor.
Since then, she’s studied the fundamental value of community and social relationships for our physical, mental, and emotional health — a puzzle piece just as vital to preventing and reversing metabolic diseases as the right diet, sleep, and exercise regime.
With skyrocketing rates of stress, anxiety, depression, and PTSD plaguing the nation, we discuss how people can use meditation, psychedelic therapies, EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and regenerative medicine to heal past trauma.
You’ll also hear why tackling stress and improving mental, emotional, and spiritual health is the next frontier in health optimization, along with a few recommendations for wearable tech to help.
Dr. Molly then ventures into her new fascination with emerging sex therapy protocols, an overlooked area that hasn’t been innovated in 50 years. She shines a light on the recent epidemic of sexual trauma and sexual dysfunction.
We’re so stuck in our own little worlds that we forget life can actually be a lot easier if we have more interaction and community with others. Share on XAs a practicing physician and healthcare reform lobbyist, Dr. Molly also touches on how to create a community of people who advocate for their wellbeing in a broken healthcare system designed to keep us sick for profit.
