Congratulations! You’ve gone through the 30 days and have made some pretty substantial changes in your nutrition and lifestyle. Sometimes it helps to take a look back at the changes we’ve made to look forward to see the bright future ahead.
Just to recap – this is where you should be:
You should have removed processed foods, grains, beans, legumes, some alcohol and dairy. You should have replaced that with properly sourced vegetables, nuts, seeds, healthy fats and meat (the beef protein powder I developed can be helpful here). You should have your kitchen set up with equipment and pantry items and learned a few new tricks for cooking. You should be sleeping much better, interacting with others and getting more time outside under the sun. All of these changes don’t seem like much individually, but when taken together, they set the stage for radically improved health and well-being.
When making changes for your health (adding colostrum is one change that many find supportive), it can be easy to focus on what you’re giving up and look at the process as a deprivation. But you can choose to switch your frame of mind and focus on the positive rather than the negative. You’re not giving up foods, you’re gaining health, energy, vitality, and more. Additionally, you are expanding your horizons, trying new foods, and hopefully getting in sync with your body’s optimal fuels.
Say you’re at a function where there are no food choices. Instead of thinking you have to eat because you are hungry, just don’t eat. The majority of you reading this article have no idea what being hungry truly feels like. Missing out on food for an hour or two until you have a better option is much better than the alternative. Eating foods that cause depression, anxiety, weight gain, inflammation and more just isn’t worth it.
Once you get to a point where you feel optimal, add in whatever you want, whenever you want. Just know there will be ramifications. If you’re feeling great and want to eat a donut or drink a beer, fine. Don’t turn this into a religion.
If you’ve had some snags along the way, that is no problem. Go back and clean up where you may have missed a point or two. If you’ve incorporated all of the steps, then great job! Keep going from here and look forward to an even improved health. Use our 30 Minute Paleo Guide as a guideline moving forward. Print it out, keep it on your fridge to keep yourself motivated. Additionally, for a convenient way to access nutrient-dense organ meats: feel free try Equip Foods beef liver supplements and/or beef organ supplements.
